Respiratory Physiology: Part 2 – Gas Exchange LIVE Tutorial

In this tutorial we explore gas exchange within the lungs, focusing on how oxygen moves from the alveoli into the bloodstream and how carbon dioxide is removed. We will examine the role of the alveolar–capillary membrane, the importance of partial pressure gradients, and the key factors that influence the diffusion of gases. We will also introduce ventilation–perfusion matching and look at how common respiratory conditions can impair gas exchange.
